Meet Sasha: The real face - and cost - of BSL in Ontario

Update: Sweet Sasha, a casualty of Ontario's pit bull ban, lost her life September 22, 2009. As she left this life she was surrounded by kind, compassionate people, some of whom she knew. Not one among them was a politician.

"pit bull" type dogs are the most heavily stigmatized and misunderstood breeds and breed mixes, partly due to a province-wide ban that the government promised would increase public safety. This is an admittedly pedestrian but very sincere attempt to show people what "pit bulls" are really like.

"Pit bulls are very loyal, and will do whatever is asked of them. Dogs have no conscience, no concept of right or wrong - this is something only humans are capable of. Yet we continue to blame dogs for problems caused by irresponsible owners. Please, someone intelligent tell me how that makes sense."
- Melody Owens, Ethical Bull Breed Rescue & Referral of Florida
