Pupdate (title yoinked from L-Girl at WMTC)

There's been a lot of news on the canine front over the past few weeks.  Kiera finally kicked what was ailing her - yay!  Then last week Riley fell up the stairs of my parents' deck, and completely blew his anterior cruciate ligament in the process.  He had surgery on Tuesday and is recovering well.  No complications, no seizures.  Last but certainly not least my amazing friends answered a family's call for help for their Golden Retriever Maddie.  Project Maddie, a pet food bank for pet owners in temporary financial crisis, was born.

Chelsea and I are still doing our visits at Syl Apps every Wednesday evening.  Last night one of the youths handed me an envelope with "To: Chelsey's Owner" written on the front.  Rosie, our Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator said "I have no idea what it is, whether it's good or bad.  She asked me to mail it to you and then I told her she could give it to you in person and she said she'd rather do that".  I opened the envelope, and this what the letter read (I've omitted names and addresses to protect her privacy):

Happy Easter!!

I think that's probably the most touching and important letter I've ever received in my life.  If I could share one lesson from my pet therapy work it would be judge people not by their mistakes, but by their hearts.
